We also need to get together a list of people who would like to be trained as Judges.
When do ABA run judging courses? I've signed up for the Smokin in the City judging course, so was hoping to do theirs aw well.

I get all these rules but one...I just don't get it why anyone would care if my shirt gets dirty!
ABA Rules
Mandatory items for each team

- Aprons for all team members
Completely agree Bently. I don't like wearing aprons, I find them a bit claustrophobic.
I'll clean dishes to get a foot in guys. Plus, im very well mannered
Im not home for the Swan Valley gig. But have a hunger to learn more, so if I can help in any way or even get the opportunity to be part of a team, both hands are up.....pick me, pick me. ...
Hey Lambshank and anyone else that's thinking about it. Jump on a team, you'll have a heap of fun, free entry to the Pork and Cider Festival and a training day with Chris and the rest of the SFaF teams! Can't go wrong
Cheers, Wayne
Slight hitch unfortunately it's my other half 40th birthday on that Saturday and when i explained to her about the competition how it would enhance my BBQ skills and she would be the beneficiary of those skills her response "I think you know which choice to make"
Just as a matter of interest if you know these details what time would we kick off and what time, guestimate do you think we would be finished??

Why not take her to a festival for her Birthday???
Yeah tried that got a fairly short response!
her response "I think you know which choice to make"
Top lady! Obviously understands the importance of BBQ. If she wanted you to celebrate her birthday she wouldn't have given you the choice so she's obviously given you her blessing to enter the comp
One thing I do know about the fairer sex is that when you hear " Do whatever you like" it's best not to

Pity it's not the Smokin in the City one....that one is outside Myers front door!...you'd have no problem getting her there!

Wazza, ABA ran a judges course here in Perth, in November. Cant see another one being run here for a while.

She could get to sleep on the grass and listen to all us drink beer (or cider) and talk bbq. Nah! I just thought what my missus would say and I couldn't write i here.

They occur at every sancioned event. Would you like to be trained Diva?

Ok, this may be a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. If someone is competing, how would they do the training?
Normally these are on the morning before judging hand ins. If there was enough interest I am sure it could be accommodated earlier. A very good undertaking as a competitor to learn how the judges will be scoring prior to handing in a box.
Another point to consider is when you pay for a course, where you can actually exercise those skills. At this time, in Australia the KCBS sanction 2 events. The rest ABA 15+ and growing.
With out doubt, this is the best job at an event. One hotly sort by sponsors.
