Hi all, Some of you may remember when we scored this. Been sitting in the shed since then gathering dust. Must be time to give it some serious thought. It's nowhere near as shiny as the pic either
It's a busted and stripped Hobart combi oven that I'm hoping to make into an upright smoker. It may be a bit big but thinking about some insulated dividers that would split the cooking chamber horizontally into a couple of smaller chambers. These would be removable so it could hang a large chunk of meat, thinking a whole lamb or pig.
Originally I was thinking of using a pellet feed for it but staring to lean to a gravity feed charcoal setup. Has anyone got or built one of these?
The panel on the right hand side has a large gap behind it and I' like to fit whatever the smoke generator is in there somehow. Plenty of room and could make a decent sized chute in there.
Should be a lot of fun to fiddle around with and see if we can get it happening, just have to get off my butt and get into it!
Cheers, Wayne and Jan
