One major fault with the Boonie is its complete inability to self repair the power cord the house canine bites into 5 pieces
There is a prevention measure though, leave it plugged in.

I'd only do that for a cat.
My Lab is lucky to still be here after doing it to a couple of power tools. I think my wife followed me around unplugging them all.
I had the taste test demo on sunday and loved it, all the family did.
Got my boonie on order

Now you get to the fun bit, which pellets and which brand is best blah blah

ah crap. I forgot about the pellets haha. I might just go with the gmg ones to start with.
Any other suggestions?

That'll be about where you are and what you have access to, but GMG pellets are 40% bigger bags for a similar price.
I've used most types available and don't find all the claims that ones better than the other to hold much credibility
I found a mob called Aussie bbq in reservoir that did pacific pellets for 20 bucks a 9kg bag delivered for cash. Pretty hard to beat compared to bbq plus and co charging 35 for theirs

Minor differences, some give a bit more smoke, but you'd never pick the flavours in a blind taste test.
I'm with you, claims of one brand being superior are rubbish! But funny how the "superior brand" is always the most expensive!
Guaiacol is a minor, but important component of burning wood...it is produced from burning wood and is in the smoke. Any wood! Having said that, many folks will tell you they can pick out different types of wood smoke...In the tests we have run, that is simply a myth. No one could do it when we tested them.
Now if you want different colors in the meat you cook, different species of hardwood will most certainly provide that!
gmg is coming this weekend.
Wont be around to assembly and christen
Good choice, you won't be sorry you bought that beauty.
Now had the gmg a month and still in the box. Will be unboxed and set up this weekend.
Got some pork belly, chicken and lamb for the 1st cook. We'll see how it goes and i promise some photos.
weekend didnt go as planned. Unboxed and it appeared the grill had been used. Not a happy camper to say the least. Packed it up and took it back.
New one is now being delivered on Wednesday hopefully.
Only positive to come out of it was 4 bags of pellets on the house.
4 bags of pellets for a couple of days extra wait, I'd probably happily take that.

That's not good!

would have been my reaction...
