As per the above, and in no particular order.....
No flare ups
Easy to clean - can't rust
Versatile - use one two or three at a time depending on what you are cooking
Great as a deflector over normal grills for things like whole butterfly chicken
Portable - I use them on the kamado, Weber Q, and take them away camping on the Ziggy
Can do veggies on them - they do great roast spuds
Protects the cast iron grill on the Weber Q so I don't have to scrape that after a cook
Can be turned upside down to use as a hot plateAnd best of all......the food comes out great like my pork belly post from the weekend.

You say no flare ups but looking at one of Chris' pics earlier in this thread I see a flame poking through in the background?

On another note, I have the Weber Q 2200AU, the one with the higher lid and temp gauge built in. Anyone used these on this or the standard model? Wondering how well they fit, looks like they will slot perfectly into the 4 burner.

Depends on what length you get (you can always cut them).
They are designed for flame to lick through the grates, but they stop most of the fat dripping onto the burners.

People put them on their gas BBQ's to compete and regularly take out the best steak section at BBQ comps.

Why GrillGrates grill food better...a lot better!
There are five elements to the the Science of GrillGrate
1. Amplifies the Heat of any Grill
GrillGrates act like a lens on top of any heat source. They magnify and focus the grill's heat converting it to infrared heat.
2. Flare-Up Protection from the Bottom Plate
The underside and hole pattern of GrillGrates blocks flare-ups from engulfing food preventing charring and drying out.
3. Conducts Heat More Efficiently
GrillGrates are made from hard anodized aluminum, which conducts heat more efficiently than cast iron or stainless steel.
4. The Valleys Vaporize Drippings
Juices and drippings fall into the hot valleys where they sizzle and vaporize into flavor and retained moisture. The valleys of GrillGrates are a flavor enhancing system.5. Perfect Sear Marks
GrillGrates conduct and focus heat up the raised rails for steakhouse quality searing. Sear marks can be controlled from golden brown to dark, crispy and flavorful. -

Mine are on the older 220 model, which is the same size as yours. They fit perfectly with enough gap around the edges to let the heat escape. I got the set of three for the kamado which have 45 degree cut offs on the outer edges of two lengths, the middle on is straight. They were around $100 with the grill lifter tool thrown in. I think each single straight bit is about $50 so it's better to get the set. As UG said, if they are too big, just cut them down but that set won't require any cutting on your 2200.
I forgot to mention before....great for sausages as well. Cook lid down and NO FLARE UPS !
One of the best things is to be able to wire brush them when hot straight after using them. Do that on a porcelain coated grill and you'll end up with rust and you scrape the coating off.

They also stop your sausages rolling around when you cook em.

Yep, they sure do and lifting burgers off with the grill tool being able to get underneath them is yet another bonus.
Oh yeah, butterfly Greek lamb is also great spread out over the whole area, similar to doing a chook.

That's the spirit !!!!
This is the set I have....Grill Grates 3 pack
-
Barbecues Galore has the 3 pack like you posted for $109.95 and the Extra large (by the looks of it, it includes one more straight piece) for $169.95, can't see the point in paying an extra $50 for one more piece? I must be missing something.

$99 for the two pack is the standard price in Australia. BBQ's Galore have a special kit of 3 cut to fit 18" Kamado for $109.95

The two pack gives you 2 at 18.5" long. The three pack for the kamado are 13.5" long so if you don't have a kamado, then I'd probably go the 2 for $99. They will fit the Q nicely and be fine on the 4 burner. The 3 pack won't all fit on the Q anyway because they are too wide when all joined up so if you can only fit 2 on, then the longer the better. The pack of 4 are 20" long and they would need to be cut down to fit the Q so I'd give them a miss.
There have been times I'd have liked some more area for spuds etc.

I used mine last night on my gas grill. Cooked butterflied chicken - was great.
But would have been better on charcoal

It's a once in a lifetime purchase, you'll never have to replace them.....I'd go the three first time and be done with it.

Of course but you can use grill grates there too. I often don't have time (mid week) or it's too bloody cold to take the time to light the kamado and that's where the Weber Q comes in to it's own.
