Is it just me, or is super butcher in Brisbane gone down hill... Any ideas where to get good cuts?

not just you steve. Super butcher has gone down hill rapidly since it was sold 2 or so years ago. The prices are not as good they used to be either.
I buy different cuts from different sources depending on what i want. I tend to buy whole cuts now though and slice it myself.
Brisket, ribs, pork belly & whole chicken i get from costco.
Everything else i get from warburtons.

Agree swampy, I thought I would pull in there to grab some bits, it was the first time I walked away with nothing from a butcher shop...

Thankfully i only live around the corner from Warburtons. Always happy with their meat there.

Same on the Gold Coast. Not very Impressive but I did discover this weekend that Ashmore has been selling Rump Cap. Hopefully I'll convince the Wench to pick some up for me to or from work and we can Picanha!

Same here at the Birkdale store. Even their "specials" are dearer than other places normal prices these days. I miss the good old days.

super butcher has a tonne of picanha this weekend for $13.50/kg.

I told myself I would never go back, but maybe I grab a bit and see how it goes...

picked up my first brisket from warby's.
8kg Grass fed black angus for $10.99kgHavent cooked it yet but if the quality of their meat is a guide it should be good and a step up from the costco briskets i usually get.
They also had a few 4-5kg pieces which looked good.

I can vouch for the ribs from Warby's.
These were $20/kg and nicely trimmed. I just pulled the membrane, no need to trim anything else.
Tasted sensational.
I'm going back for more for State of Origin night!

Which cut did you get and from which store?
I've looked at their ribs before and they were tiny, these ones looks rather good -
I got those at Carseldine. They were baby backs. I went back in yesterday to get some more but they were out. I ended up going to Meat at Billy's and getting some St Louis ribs.
