I brushed the top with the pulled pork juices you can see in the first pic at the top. It went nice and toasty red, but tasted great. The inside was excellent also, but I did have to flip it once to put a nice crust on the bottom.

Going from memory here: 200-250. The fire was going, but there wasn't all that much wood in there.
You're right though, that's probably one of the reasons I had to flip it.
