I'm not sure. If I didn't already have a dedicated pizza oven and if I still had a 4 burner BBQ, I'd be willing to try one for the sake of $50. My question would be how long does it take to heat up and to what temp.

Yep exactly. For $50 will give it a crack. Will let you know it will get a workout post Xmas

Hey gang - happy new year
Finally got around to using the BBQ pizza box from Bunnings to bust out a whole heap of pizzas in the lead up to New Years.1. Actually first time I used it was to roast some potatoes- microwaved first to soften then in the box. Suuuuuuper crispy and crunchy. Probably 20-25 mins all up. Boss loved them and meant we didn't need to use the 1978 oven in our holiday unit
Note: there are two temp settings in on gauge - one as oven temp range other as wood fire temp range. Got up to oven temp in less than 10 mins.
2. Pizza night. We made fresh pizza dough - boss loves to make and got kids to help out too. Too a little longer to heat - but only 15 in total. We smashed out bout 10-12 pizzas in about an hour. Took a bit of getting used to, learning where to place, when to spin them etc in order to get base right and toppings cooked at same time. All in all a good first run. Is a little fidly when using to get it all right - if cranked at full high temp you would either over cook top before bottom or vice versa so need to work out exact temp spot. But that's no different to any other cooking tool
For a gasser accessory I thought it was good especially for $50.
Oh and the pizzas were really tasty - which I put down to the way they were cooked!!!
Apologies for lack of photos. I was on the production line belting out pizzas one after the other so never got to stop to take pics

Good news. I'm glad it worked out for you. We find the problem with doing pizzas for a hungry group is the time it takes getting them ready and that eats in to drinking/socialising time. But when there's just the two of us, we make 4 out of a batch of flour and it's perfect.

Yep completely agree Gumb. Thankfully all the other rellies made them and had al lready to go so I just stood in front of bbq with a beer and did the rest

Glad you like it. What temp does the gauge get to before you start cooking?
Looking forward to some pics next time.......................( Rules)Sent from my electric phone using my finger.
