Is Next season, 12 months
Yep I am thinking around Mid/Late next year.
I’m sure @gourmetgalaxy will be testing one for us anyways as usual aha
No certainty on that!

LIES!.
The 1st step is admitting you have a problem. :biglol:
Is it just me? I'm going to say it anyway - it's a bit ugly.
Looks very interesting though.
Question, how do you get wood into it for smoking?
yes it is a little ugly but i am sure it would turn out some fine food.
At 51seconds of the video you see where the wood chunks go in.
it doesnt look like it is real close to the Charcoal.
Yeah I would think that to if large pieces ? They would wedge them self together when they drop down?
I’m smoking on a Flaming Coals gravity fed, which has some similarities to this unit, the charcoal hopper tapers out towards the bottom,so narrow at the top and slightly wider at the bottom, never had a issue with lump charcoal getting stuck
Dude in the US saw one, had this to say

It’s a new type of grill with 560 square inches of cooking space with decent depth, so you have plenty of cooking space.
It’s heated by charcoal in the hopper, which has a shield around it for safety. This design allows you to get a good charcoal flavor with a somewhat automated process; keeping temperature is pretty easy as there is a WiFi and Bluetooth controller on the unit which controls an industrial grade fan that blows the heat from the hopper into the grill, as well as keeping the coals burning at the desired temperature.
The design of the hopper allows you to load charcoal at will even when the grill is already going, and also “turn off” the grill with some slides that go in between the hopper and the grill space. Leaving the grill lid open will have the fan spin up to send more heat to the grill at whichever temp you have it set to, so keep that in mind too.
Yes, you can also add wood chunks to a chamber on the bottom of the hopper to add your preferred wood flavor. The coals that end up dropping through the filter that the charcoal sits on in the hopper will cause the wood chunks to start smoldering. Pretty simple.
The controller could be powered by a battery bank if you’re not at an outlet. I think it needs to be rated as a sort of power supply and not just a basic phone bank, but I don’t recall specifics.
It’s pretty easy to clean as everything inside of the grill that would normally get greasy and whatnot will actually come out of the grill. This includes the piece that guides the heat from the hopper into the grill space - this part specifically gets you a pretty even cooking temp across the entire grill, for the record.
The grill will come with one meat probe but you will be able to plug in up to four of them to the controller. An update to the Masterbuilt app will be out (if it already isn’t) which will allow you to control this grill and check temps from wherever you have an internet connection provided you have the grill within range of your home WiFi internet and have it properly connected. However, it’s obviously not recommended or supported if you are leaving this unit going at home without supervising it in person.
You’re not going to find another grill at this price with these features. A larger one is also planned for 2021 at the latest.
If it is $499 US then I would guess $1500 AU max.
Why? Well Z grill 700e is $699 in the US and $1299 in Au
GMG Daniel Boone Prime is $699 in the US and $1699 in AU

the burning coals fall onto the wood to get it smoking. agree it isn't all that pretty.
- it's a bit ugly.
I agree it looks odd but, does not need to look good just simply cook good!

I'm tipping around the $1000 > $1250.00 range.

$1500 I would have thought tops.
500$ US should translate to about $3000
I did hear it looks like close to $2000.00 landed here....I thought @trentski was close to the right equation though!
I'm not fussed by the looks, it looks OK to me, a bit edgy but that's the new design trend ...look at the new Traegers, similar design "feel"
as long as it turns out good food.

Yep that’s the main thing ! Can be cooked in a shitty old kettle you got off the side of the road for free or a hamy down or a garden ornament like mine
Ok, I need to clarify. I'm happy to cook on a busted arse old Weber that looks like it's done 15 rounds with the 4 horsemen.
But, you bring a new product out that looks a bit strange, I'm going to mention it. Do the looks have a bearing on if I would buy it, heck no, but I'm also very happy for that feedback to get back to the designer who came up with the stupid concept to get slapped down for next time.
Is it just me or does it look tiny? Barely bigger than a Weber Q, admittedly it has racks.

That was my first opinion, looks small

Bigger than a Weber Q...but not a huge unit by any stretch!

Yes small grill surface 17" x 11" or there about (560 sq inch including the two upper racks) 450 x 300 ish. But a heap of vertical space so not bad for backyard use
Mmm interesting. The heat shield near the hopper reminds me of the chimney of my old man's combustion heater.
Imteresting that it's like a grill but with charcoal. Might work out more economical then a pellet pooper? More options in our market is good for us anyway

Not a bad one here
